I. Conference Theme & Mission
Jointly hosted by The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) and Central China Normal University (CCNU), the Global Alliance of Educational Leaders and Department Heads (GAELDH) 2026 Conference aims to reconceptualize the future of global education by bridging diverse educational systems and promoting the exchange of best practices. The alliance facilitates cross-cultural collaboration among educational leaders and department heads, aiming to drive systemic change through enhanced policymaking, leadership development, and the advocacy of consistent educational quality benchmarks.
The theme of GAELDH 2026 is “Educational Leadership for the AI Era: Transforming
Disciplinary and Teacher Education.”
With the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), educational leadership faces unprecedented opportunities and challenges. This two-day international conference will focus on how educational leaders can navigate and drive the transformation of disciplinary learning and teacher education in the AI era. Through in-depth discussions, this conference aims to provide new insights and ideas for the future development of education, helping industry professionals better grasp transformative opportunities, address relevant challenges, and promote educational growth.
II. Conference Strands
Educational Leadership, Policy, and School Governance in the AI Era Teacher Education, Professional Development, and Educator AI Literacy Transforming Disciplinary Learning (STEM, Language, Humanities, Social Sciences, etc.) AI-Empowered Curriculum, Pedagogy, and Assessment Digitalization, Educational Technology, and Smart Learning Environments Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Special Educational Needs in the Digital Age Ethics, Values Education, and Digital Citizenship2 Student Mental Health, Well-being, and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Educational Paradigms, Theories, and Research Methodologies for the Digital Age Family, School, and Community Partnerships in the Digital Era.
III. General Information and Policies
1. The Call for Abstracts for the GAELDH 2026 offers important opportunities for those wishing to participate in and contribute to the advancement of the field of education. This conference provides educators, researchers, and other stakeholders a platform to share their latest insights,innovations, and best practices.
2. The GAELDH 2026 invites two types of presentation: poster presentation and paper
presentation.
3. All submitted abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by 2 reviewers.
4. If abstracts are accepted for the GAELDH 2026, they may be grouped into paper or poster sessions by topic.
5. All presenting authors, presenters, and other participants and attendees must register before 16 October 2026, 23:59 (Hong Kong Time, GMT+8).

IV. Submission Procedures and Policies
1. Submissions are accepted online only at the official submission link:

Choose the presentation type. Fill in the authors and abstract information. Submit the PDF orWord version of the file without author identification].
2. Submissions must arrive by the deadline. The submission system closes at 23:59 (Hong Kong Time, GMT+8), on 28 September 2026. No late submissions will be accepted.
3. Completeness of submissions. Authors should only submit complete abstracts. Proposals to write an abstract or about work still in the very early planning stages without preliminary thoughts are not eligible for consideration.
4. Originality of submissions. Only abstract submissions based on work that has not been
previously published or presented at another professional meeting are eligible.
5. Anonymity. All abstract uploads must be submitted without author identification. All
submissions are reviewed anonymously. References, tables, charts, graphs, images, and
figures should be added at the end of the document and are not included in the word count.
6. Word limits. Submissions must not exceed the word limits specified in the "Abstract
Submission Requirements". Only submissions that adhere to the requirements will be
considered.
7. Participant registration and attendance requirements. All presenting authors of accepted abstracts are expected to register for and attend the conference and be present at the scheduled session.3
8. Participant registration deadline. The presenting authors must register by 23:59 (Hong
Kong Time, GMT+8) on 26 October 2026. Submission is a commitment to do so.
9. Presenting author participation limits. To promote broad participation, an individual may not appear as the presenting author on more than two submissions. You may need to withdraw papers if more than two are accepted where you are the presenting author.
V. Abstract Submission Requirements
1. An abstract submission is an individual paper with one or more co-authors that is submitted for presentation at GAELDH 2026.
2. Word limits:
200 to 300 words in English for the abstract.
3 to 5 keywords for the paper.
References, tables, charts, graphs, images, and figures should be added at the end of the
document and are not included in the word count.
3. The paper must address and will be reviewed on the following six elements:
a. Objectives or purposes
b. Perspective(s) or theoretical framework
c. Methods, techniques, or modes of inquiry
d. Data sources, evidence, objects, or materials
e. Results and/or substantiated conclusions or warrants for arguments/point of view
f. Scientific or scholarly significance of the study or work
It is understood that theoretical or methodological papers will include information that is
the equivalent of Element d for those genres of scholarly work.
4. Paper format or style, please follow the APA-7 (https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar
guidelines/paper-format/sample-papers).
5. File format. When uploading the paper on the online submission platform, please use the
".doc", ".docx" or ".pdf" file format.
